Six moments where value is decided.
I work primarily with established private and family-owned businesses, boards, investment and wealth advisors, and Indigenous and Northern organizations.
Grow it.
Build the core business
Identify the company’s current value, its principal value drivers and the strategies most likely to generate sustainable growth and shareholder returns. This provides management and owners with an objective, value-based perspective on strategic priorities.
Measure it.
Monitor value and performance
Establish reliable valuation benchmarks that allow owners and boards to monitor value creation, evaluate performance and align management incentives with shareholder outcomes. Periodic valuations can also help owners understand how the business contributes to their overall wealth and financial planning.
Buy it.
Make an acquisition
Provide an independent perspective on transaction value, pricing and deal structure. I work with your broader advisory team to assess key risks, test the assumptions supporting the price and identify the actions required to realize the anticipated value.
Improve it.
Strengthen financial performance
Identify the operational and financial changes most likely to enhance business value, including opportunities to improve revenue growth, margins, capital efficiency and cash flow. This may include an independent review of business plans, financial forecasts and the assumptions underlying them.
Transition it.
Transfer ownership
Provide independent valuation advice for management or employee ownership plans, family succession, shareholder reorganizations and estate transfers. I explain the valuation and transaction implications clearly, helping stakeholders make informed decisions and achieve fairness, transparency and alignment.
Sell it.
Prepare for a divestiture
Help owners understand the value of the business, prepare it for sale and establish realistic pricing expectations. Support can be tailored to the circumstances, including transaction preparation, evaluation of offers and advice during negotiations.
Who I Work With
I operate a focused, senior-only advisory practice and accept a limited number of engagements. This ensures that every client benefits directly from my experience, independent judgment and full attention. I work primarily with the following clients:
01 Established private and family-owned businesses
For owners considering a transaction, succession or significant growth decision where getting the value question right can shape the entire strategy.
02 Boards and business owners
Independent, senior judgment where value and strategy intersect, particularly when the decision requires more than a routine valuation process.
03 Investment and wealth advisors
An independent, credible assessment of a client’s private business interests to support wealth and estate planning, succession strategy and broader financial advice.
04 Indigenous and Northern organizations
Strategic, valuation and governance advice grounded in direct experience with the distinctive ownership, operating and economic-development considerations of Northern enterprises.
Given the scale and nature of the work for which this practice is designed, I generally do not accept early-stage or sub-$3 million revenue business engagements. Where appropriate, I may be able to recommend another qualified advisor.
